ice cream on my mind

I don't know if it's the warm weather or the latest issue of Kinfolk but I'm having serious ice cream dreams. It's pretty much all I'm craving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The last time I was in Italy, exactly two years ago in fact, that's pretty much mostly what my diet consisted of (side note: if you're ever in Florence, go to Vivoli for the best gelato - I've had my fair share of gelato in Italy so I know what I'm talking about). I can't remember the last time I made ice cream from scratch but it's definitely on the summer bucket list. Scroll down to see some recipes that are on my mind.

I'm so intrigued by this fig balsamic ice cream.

And carrot cake ice cream sans gluten? Yes, please!

I'm also really curious about using coconut milk and almond milk for dairy-free versions, like in this vegan brownie chocolate ice cream and this coconut mint ice cream.
